Food Recovery Program Ottawa Tourism has partnered with La Tablée des Chefs to establish a food recovery program linking hospitality partners with organizations that support community members in need. “Our partners, whether a hotel, convention centre, caterer, or sports arena, can log into the platform and see the impact that their food donations are making,” says Mary Sayewich, Director, Strategy & Project Management, Ottawa Tourism. “We also measure the environmental impact of the food that was kept out of the landfi ll.” It’s an easy way for planners to achieve environmental and social impact mandates. “Just by hosting at a partner venue in Ottawa, planners can add food recovery to their goals and know that it’s being taken care of as standard practice,” Sayewich adds.
